Sean founded Piedmont Venture Capital in 2014 and handles investor relations and capital placement for the firm. Prior to this, he served as the head of corporate finance at Greensboro investment banking firm Wharton Gladden & Co. He has also worked at Winston-Salem based Vincent J. Gallo & Associates, where he worked with CEOs on exit and succession planning, estate and wealth planning and M&A advisement.
Though Sean grew up in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, he is a permanent North Carolinian. He’s a graduate of High Point University, where he majored in finance and economics.
Civically, Sean has served on multiple non-profit boards and led fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer’s Association and Autism Society. He is also a passionate supporter of economic development, serving on the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership planning board and speaking about attracting and retaining young professionals to North Carolina.
He lives in Winston-Salem with his wife Samantha and their beagle, Roxy.
